PartyPoker's FastForward already at Real Money Tables

PartyPoker's highly anticipated fast-fold format is here; FastForward, "the turbo-charged way to play cash games" is released to real money tables. As we reported a few days earlier, slowly but surely PartyPoker's fast-fold game arrived to the tables. As the debut went very well, without any hitches, PartyPoker already released the format to its real money cash game tables as well. Real Money games are currently at NL4-NL25 tables, and an NL50 heads-up table is also offered, but at the time of writing of this article nobody played there.

PartyPoker FastForward

FastForward does not seem to offer radically new features as the competitors' solutions. Players can connect to the very same table 4 times, and the Forward Fold button will instantly fold the players hand, even before their turn in the given hand.

Overwhelming PokerStars Dominance – Rivals in Trouble?

PokerStars currently has a 42% share of the online poker market and could be in for an even more devastating edge with the FTP acquisition.

Full Tilt Poker - PokerStars

On 31 July, 2012, PokerStars has announced the settlement with the United States Department of Justice, according to which the company could purchase Full Tilt Poker (FTP) for $547 million and take on the responsibility to restart the room in 90 days, in addition to repaying players everything they had frozen on their FTP accounts. The new Full Tilt would be a stand-alone room with a separate management, while its profits remain the property of PokerStars. This will ultimately lead to an unprecedented PokerStars dominance on the online poker market.

Hansen, Townsend and Jungleman at the Online High Stakes Tables

A lot of action has been going on in the early days of August at the PokerStars high stakes tables. Some of the biggest names of the industry have appeared.

Daniel 'jungleman12' Cates

Great names, great pots and great sessions characterise the early days of this August, as far as online high stakes games at PokerStars are concerned. The biggest winner is ‘5tgb6yhn7’, playing from a Monaco address, with a profit of $358,239 in only 5 days, while 2010 online high stakes champion Daniel ‘jungleman12’ Cates (who runs under the screen name of ‘w00ki3z’ at PokerStars) has reappeared after a longer hiatus and now holds the 5th place on the monthly money list of the room with $241,929. Cates also is one of the most active players with 6,608 hands played in August so far.

Full Tilt Poker Payday - Pros Expecting Millions Back

The relaunch of Full Tilt Poker is very good news for all players, but there are several pros who expect millions of dollars eagerly. Alderney Gaming Control Commission (AGCC) revoked Full Tilt Poker's operating license on 29 July, 2011, a few months after Black Friday, and as a consequence, players couldn't access their bankroll anymore. Almost exactly a year of misery, scandal, proposed acquisition, failure of acquisition, hope and hopelessness followed.

On 31 July, 2012 the news broke all players dreamed about for a year: Full Tilt Poker has been sold, and the buyer is the world's largest poker site, PokerStars, who announced they will repay all the bankrolls in 90 days. This brought not only the two poker rooms, but the whole of online poker to a new milestone, which might be the beginning of another surge in online poker traffic. It is estimated that almost $150 million will reenter the money circulation of online poker, by way of non-US players alone. Even more than that, because many poker pros moved from the United States, joining the global poker market.

PokerStars - Full Tilt Poker

One of the most notable pros who moved to London from their native country is Daniel 'jungleman12' Cates, who was the number one online nosebleed NLHE Heads-Up player in the world.  He is also a recorder concerning money stuck in FTP, he collected $7,003,234 in 2 years, which made him the 5th most profitable player in the history of Full Tilt Poker. There were rumours after Black Friday that Cates sold his Full Tilt Poker Bankroll to Tom 'durrr' Dwan. The information is unofficial, and even though he might sold a portion of it to Dwan, he revealedd in a recent interview that he still owns the majority of his Full Tilt money. He expects 80% of his $7 million back. Cates also reported that losing his bankroll was a terrible blow mentally, but he successfully overcame it and decided to rebuild his bankroll from scratch. He currently has $1,5 million profit at European sites. If he indeed gets his money back, he can dominate nosebleed tables with an even bigger roll.

Significant Drop in Zynga Shares, Real Money Gaming Comes 2013

Zynga’s Q2 financial reports have been released earlier this week, showing a disastrous drop in the value of the social gaming company’s shares, contrary to optimistic predictions. However, this seems to have a positive effect on Zynga opening to the real money market.

Zynga

Only a couple of days ago, Zynga CEO Marc Pincus confirmed: the company is investigating the option to enter the real money market. Still, no specifics were revealed, which did not do much against concerns that the company’s intentions are not very serious after all.

Earlier this week, the Q2 financial reports of Zynga have been released, revealing a significant drop of 40% in the company’s shares, which goes straight against analysts’ expectations of a minor rise. It appears that Facebook shares followed in the footsteps of those of the social gaming company and showed decline as well.
