The €100K Super High Roller gets down to final 5 while the Main Event kicks off in Barcelona

World class soccer players Neymar Jr., Gerard Pique and Giovani Lo Celso also arrived at the Casino Barcelona to play some cards.

The €100,000 Super High Roller of the EPT Barcelona generated a total of 54 entries, creating a prize pool of €5,239,090. As usual, the biggest names of the game showed up to play, but most of them have already fallen with the likes of Patrik Antonius, Daniel Negreanu or the founder of Poker Central, Cary Katz.

Unlike them, some high-roller crushers still have high hopes of taking home the title and the €1,650,300 first prize. One of the biggest winners of the year, Mikita Badziakouski, Frenchman Benjamin Pollak and Canada's Timothy Adams are all in the final 5.

However, Benjamin doesn't have much space to maneuver, as he's currently sitting on 800,000, good for 10 big blinds. Mikita is in a somewhat more comfortable spot having 1.85 million and so is Timothy with 2.075 million.

The bigger stacks belong to Iran's Ahadpur Khangah, who oversees a stack of 3,800,000. Khangah is only two places away of booking his biggest payday as his current best score is €466,421 from last years High Roller for One Drop in Rozvadov. The chip leader is Matthias Eibinger from Austria, who's best live cash is a $1 million score he received after finishing runner-up in the ARIA 100K High Roller back in May. Ahadpur has 2.9 million while Matthias has a comfortable lead with a 4.9 million-strong stack.

As Barcelona is not only a significant stop for the poker circuit but also the home of many world-class sports teams, it's not surprising to see some high-profile athletes to join the action. Top-notch players of Barcelona FC, Neymar Jr., Gerard Pique and member of Paris Saint-Germain, Giovani Lo Celso all attended the €2,200 National High Roller event.
