Amar Begovic wins first WSOPC gold ring at Rozvadov

The Bosnian player outlasted a field of 796 to take down his biggest ever score.

The €1,650 WSOP International Circuit Rozvadov Main Event kicked off on March 16 in King's Casino with 796 participants, who created a prize pool of €1,134,300. This is by far the biggest cash for Amar, as before the tournament his best score was a €10,910 from the 2009 Sarajevo November Challenge Main Event.

Runner-up, Timur Margolin from Israel also had all the reason to celebrate as he took down his biggest score, since 2015, when he also finished second for $341,338 in the $2,500 No Limit Hold'em event at the World Series of Poker. The Israeli now has almost $1 million in live tournament earnings, while the Bosnian champ hit the crossed the $350K mark.

Amir took the lead early, after eliminating Konstantinos Misailidis. Timur Margolin had a good start well, he busted Amir Goliz and Oleksandr Vikhtiuk. The final two tables were set, when Alexander Romme and Stanislav Koleno finished off Yehuda Cohen and Dennis Kirsch. The unofficial final table started with Begovic's lead.

The unofficial became the official after the elimination of Omer Yoruk, who ran into queens, holding eights. Four hands later Alexander Romme followed Omer on his way out. Romme lost a flip against Margolin, who took over the chip lead, with a stack of over seven million. Short stack Grzegorz Wyras busted in sixth place, while Ben Zech got fifth.

At this point Margolin was leading the field, overseeing a stack of more than 10 million and he even managed to further the gap as he busted Martin Kabrhel. The Czech pro, who finished in 3rd place in the €5,300 WSOP Circuit High Roller for €31,657 added another €76,244 to his winnings by finishing 4th. Martin was the victim of Amar, who was getting closer to Timur.

However, after winning some sizeable pots, the Bosnian made several unsuccessful bluffs and doubled up Paris Stavridis so the stacks even out more between the two. But he got some of it back, after busting Stavridis and the heads-up play kicked off. He was all-in twice for his tournament life but managed to win both hands.

In the third all-in confrontation, the two put their chips into the middle on the turn.
