Andre Lettau wins EPT 100 Barcelona Main Event

The EPT100 in Barcelona is coming to an end, and yesterday two new champions were crowned, a young German player won the 100th Main Event in EPT history, but Samuel "buckguy2200" Phillips walked away with the most money.

At he the beginning of play in the 8-handed final table, the chipleader was Hossein Ensan, but Sam "buckguy2200" and Andrea Dato were also in pursuit of the €1.26 million first prize.

The first player to bust was Slaven Popov, he went all-in with A7 suited, Ji Zhang asked for a chipcount, then decided to call with QQ. Some players at the table mentioned that it was a slowroll, but Zhang has been known to think about situations where he has to risk his whole stack, he asked for a count of the stack of his opponents twice during this tournament already when he was holding Aces. Popov didn't manage to improve and busted in 8th place.

Zhang followed soon after, he went all-in with AK suited after a raise and a call, Ensan reraised all-in with JJ, and made a set on the AJ925 board.

Kiryl Radzivonau finished in 6th place, he called all-in with QJ offsuit and didn't manage to improve against Sam Phillips' KT suited. Andrey Shatilov was not so lucky with his KT suited, he jammed all-in and was called by Lettau, who held AJ offsuit, which held up, and Shatilov was eliminated in 5th place.

Italian player Andrea Dato finished in 4th place, he went all in with 15 big blinds and A2 after Ensan raised with A7. Ensan called and made a straight on the 64658 board.

Samuel Phillips - €1.02 million

Andre Lettau - €704,000

Hossein Ensan - €652,000

Soon after the deal Lettau doubled up against Ensan in a coinflip, and Ensan was left with only 4.4 million chips, which he soon lost when his K9 failed to improve against Lettau's KQ.

Lettau started the heads-up with a huge chiplead, he had 37.5 million chips while Phillips was playing 7.3 million.
