Breakout Gaming - New cryptocurrency gambling site featuring old-school pro team
18
Breakout Gaming plans to launch it services soon, with their very own cryptocurrency like Bitcoin, called Breakout Coin (BRO). An impressive list of players headlines the site, including Johnny Chan, Huck Seed, Jennifer Harman, Ted Forrest, David Benyamine, Layne Flack, Jeffrey Lisandro, Vladimir Schemelev and Toto Leonidas.
Breakout Gaming is planning to come out with a casino that has 88 different games, including No Limit Holdem and Open Face Chinese Poker. The site is headquartered in San Jose, Costa Rica, but also has Las Vegas and Los Angeles operations. Breakout Gaming will be properly licensed and only present in legal-to-play markets, so it's unclear how they plan in offering their services in California, where online gaming is currently not legal.
10-time WSOP bracelet winner Johnny Chan said the following in a press release:
"We are going to shake up the gaming community with the world's first cryptocurrency that has a dedicated ecosystem for its coins. We felt there was an untouched niche for digital currency enthusiasts to play digital games such as Poker, Blackjack and Fantasy Sports, all while investing in the long term opportunity of Breakout being the next go-to gaming destination."
There is no official release date as of now, but according to Ted Forrest's Twitter the Breakout Gaming will launch next month. The Breakout Pro Team has won a combined of 38 WSOP bracelets throughout their careers, but reactions on the forums have been mixed so far, many people are worried that the former Full Tilt professionals' (neither of whom have any history or association with cryptocurrencies) involvement with the site that has created a completely new currency is going to end the same way the old Full Tilt did - with lost funds and disappointed players.
Yesterday Breakout Gaming posted the following picture on their Twitter account, possibly as a response to the pessimists.
Many experts believe that cryptocurrencies are going to be the future of online gaming, but only time will tell whether Breakout Gaming's very own Breakout Coin can become a significant part of the market.
