Brian Rast on Winning a $3 Million Pot

Brian “tsarrast” Rast recently appeared on the Poker Stories Podcast and told his story about the biggest pot he’s ever won, $3 million against an unnamed Asian player at a cash game table at the Aria Casino, Las Vegas.

Rast is one of the best and – objectively – most successful poker players today. He’s won $19,918,192 at live tournaments so far, and finished first at the WSOP $50,000 Poker Players Championship twice.

You can listen to his account of the hand that earned him $3 million here, starting at 51:00 mark:

At a cash game table with $2000/4000 blinds and $800,000 minimum buy-in, Brian Rast was dealt a pair of kings on the big blind. He 3bet his pair which his opponent called from the cutoff position. The flop came J 7 4 with two clubs, the CO checked, Rast bet then got check-raised. He re-raised, then his opponent shoved all his chips in the middle. This is when the hero of our story decided to call and go all in. You can find out what cards he was up against from the podcast.
