Djk123 is the Latest Member of the Brunson 10

Doyle Brunson is putting together his own pro team at Doyle’s Room. Before the start of the WSOP, Doyle announced that he had chosen four online poker players, out of which one would become part of his pro team, based on their performance at the WSOP.

These four players were Daniel ‘djk123’ Kelly, Faraz Jaka, David Sands and Michael Martin.

Although this has been his first WSOP, Kelly was thought to have the greatest chance to win, even before the launch of the Series. Seeing his current results, this is understandable.

Kelly got ITM in the $1,500 PLO, $1,500 NLHE and $15,00 NLHE Shootout events, and then won the $25,000 NLHE – Six-Handed tournament, for which he received $1,315,518. These results secured him a place among the Brunson 10.

Djk123 became an internationally recognized poker player in 2008, when he won PokerStars’ Nightly Hundred Grand (his prize was $31,411)  and placed sixth on the CardPlayer Online Player of the Year (OPOY) leaderboard.

He continued improving his play and stats in 2009 and collected the title of ‘Best Player of the WCOOP’. He won WCOOP events #2 ($215 Razz, winnings: $53,400) and #44 ($10,300 HORSE, winnings: $252,350), and placed fourth in the two-day $5,200 buy-in Main Event for $643,200.

Kelly is the seventh member of the Brunson 10, so far the team had been Zachary ‘CrazyZach Clark, Amit ‘Amak316’ Makhija, Dani ‘Ansky’ Stern, Chris ‘Moorman1’ Moorman, Alex ‘AJKHoosier1’ Kamberis and Steve ‘gboro780’.
