Doug Polk Challenges Tom Dwan to a $5 Million NLHE Heads-up Match

In a semi-serious video Doug "WCGRider" Polk offered a $5 million heads-up challenge to Tom "durrrr" Dwan - does this duel have any chance of happening?

Polk has been bringing up durrrr in his YouTube videos frequently, analyzing hands he played and criticizing him for the way he handled the heads-up challenge against "Jungleman" Cates. It was actually there on Polk's YouTube channel where Jungleman told the public that Dwan has paid him around $700K-$800K for delay penalties, something that exonerated Dwan from a lot of the guilt of the unfinished challenge.

Maybe that bit of information gave Polk enough confidence in Dwan to offer him a challenge: $5 million for the best of the two in NLHE heads-up. A format that was Polk's specialty for years, but recently he's played more live televised full-ring high stakes games, both tournament and cash. Some in the online poker community has criticized Polk's one-on-one poker game lately, with some basis. He busted early in this year's WSOP in the $10K heads-up event against Albert Daher, and more recently he lost to Phil Hellmuth in Poker Night in America's heads-up championship. Also on PNIA, he lost $300K over the course three hands in a cash game while playing drunk.

With Dwan back on the American live poker scene, Polk decided to seize on the opportunity to offer him this $5 mil challenge to mend his damaged reputation, according to the funny premise of his video.

Polk is serious about the challenge despite the tongue-in-cheek tone of he video, he makes that clear at the end. But is Dwan likely to accept? No. He hasn't shown any intention of finishing his challenge with Cates, let alone starting a whole new one. He hasn't accepted or even commented on Polk's proposal either, although t's been 3 days since the video was posted. Dwan's more likely to return to Macau to play more super high stakes cash games.
