Dzmitry Urbanovich wins EPT Dublin Main Event for €561,900

The 21-year old Polish wunderkind claimed his first European Poker Tour Main Event title after defeating Gilles Bernies in heads-up. Astonishingly, the huge win only represents his fourth largest career score.

The 6-handed final table of the EPT Dublin €5,300 Main Event kicked off on Saturday with Dzmitry ''Colisea'' Urbanovich as the chip leader, but Rhys ''floppinhel'' Jones was also in the hunt for the €561,900 first place prize.

Seat 1. Gilles Bernies - 2.735.000 (55 bb)
Seat 2. Dzmitry Urbanovich - 5.125.000 (103 bb)
Seat 3. Patrick Clarke - 4.300.000 (86 bb)

Seat 5. Iliodoros Kamatakis - 1.965.000 (39 bb)
Seat 6. Rhys Jones - 740.000 (15 bb)

Play started on Level 27 (25,000/50,000 - 5,000 ante) and we only had to wait four hands for the elimination.

Jones started as the short stack and was in desperate need for a double up, he shoved all-in with A-9 for 720,000 from the big blind over Urbanovich's raise of 110,000.

Urbanovich called with A-T and the best hand held up on the T-2-5-9-A board, Jones received €119,450 for his sixth place finish.

On Level 28 (30,000/60,000 - 10,000 ante), Ilios ''ILIOS27'' Kamatakis raised to 150,000 from UTG and was called by Gilles Bernies with A-Q.

On a flop of Q-9-5, Kamatakis bet 275,000, Bernies raised to 650,000, Kamatakis went all-in and Bernies called. The turn and river both came a three and Kamatakis was eliminated in fifth.

During Level 29 (40,000/80,00 - 10,000 ante) Bernies won a huge flip with A-Q against Urbanovich's 8-8 and increased his stack to 8 million, while the rest of the players had around 3 million each.

Bernies managed to increase his stack even further and eliminated Clarke in a Q-Q vs. A-2 preflop all-in.

Gilles Bernies - 12.850.000
Dzmitry Urbanovich - 3.295.000
Kully Sidhu - 1.980.000

Three-handed play only lasted one hand, Sidhu's A-6 couldn't improve against Bernies' 5-5, who started the heads-up with a huge chiplead.

Gilles Bernies - 14.840.000
Dzmitry Urbanovich - 3.285.000

At the beginning of heads-up play Urbanovich managed to double up with a straight against Bernies' two pair.

During Level 30 (50,000/100,000 - 10,000 ante) Urbanovich won a huge pot. He raised to 225,000 from the button with 8-5 of spades, Bernies 3bet to 575,000 with 4-2 offsuit and Urbanovich called.

On the K-J-8 (two spades) flop Bernies continued for 625,000, Urbanovich raised to 1,475,000, Bernies shoved all-in and Urbanovich snapcalled.

Bernies had just 2% chance to win and there was no miracle, Urbanovich took down the 15,040,000 pot.

Bernies managed to double up with A-8 against A-J and reclaimed the lead, but Urbanovich fought back and by Level 32 (80,000/160,000 - 20,000 ante) he had a massive chiplead.

In the final hand of the tournament Bernies shoved for 2 million with Q-7, Urbanovich snapcalled with K-K and the best hand held up.

Urbanovich, who is aiming to win three WSOP bracelets this summer, won €561,900 for his first place finish, which is the fourth largest score of his career.
