Holdem Manager Supports HM1 until 30 April 2014
Effective 1 May 2014, no more updates will be released and no technical support available for Holdem Manager 1.
Holdem Manager has notified players in an e-mail that, as of 30 April 2014, they no longer support HM1. This effectively means that players will be able to log in, use the software including the HUD but need to expect that no more updates will be released and bugs and crashes will not be fixed. The company ceases to support the first version of the popular poker tool from this May.
HM1 was released in 2006 and it has become one of the most beloved utility software in the community. A lot of players remained to use HM1 even after the launch of HM2 and the company has been working hard to support them as long as possible. However, the development and updates of HM2 required resources they could no longer afford to use for HM1 and with the majority of its clientele already switching to HM2, the Holdem Manager team decided to discontinue the support of the first version and focus on providing faster and better services for HM2.
Players owning the HM1 licence only are eligible for a major discount on HM2: until 30 April, they can get it 40% cheaper. It is also possible to test the software in a one month trial period; in fact, even those who have already used up their trial days may give it a second try. This means those who have tried HM2 but decided to keep using HM1 are now entitled to see it again, determine whether they like the changes and switch if so they find.
Of course, HM1 hand histories can be imported to the newer version, no databases are lost.
The Holdem Manager team additionally guarantees that fans of HM1 will not be disappointed in HM2, which is already offering a far wider variety of functions than the groundbreaking first version.
