Michael Zhang takes down €25K SHR, Main Event reaches bubble

The young UK-pro beat Tom Vogelsang for the title and the €350,000 coming with it. Freddy Deeb leads Main Event.

The action is still underway at King's Casino, Rozvadov. Several high-rollers have already concluded, with Michael Zhang as the last man standing in the €25K SHR. The 42-entry-strong field created a €997,500 prize pool with only six places paid, meaning three players walked away empty-handed despite making the final table. The three unlucky finishers were Australia's Kahle Burns, Germany's Ole Schemion and Team partypoker pro, Kristen Bicknell.

Unlike them, Choon Siow walked away with a profit, after busting in 6th place for €60,000. He was followed by Steffen Sontheimer, who added €85,000 to his bankroll and Triton co-founder, Paul Phua, who picked up €112,500 at the cage.

Turkey's Selahaddin Bedir booked his biggest-ever score, in form of a €160,000 payday for finishing 3rd, leaving Zhang and Netherlands' Tom Vogelsang play it out for the win.

The latter couldn't last for too long, and he had to settle for a €230,000 consolation prize, but considering he more than doubled his live-tournament earnings with this score, he's probably not disappointed with the outcome.

Zhang has been on a spectacular run in the past 18 months with several five- and six-figure score under his belt. He now stands with $3,118,876 of total live earnings.

According to rumors, he's also a big winner of the online nosebleed cash game action, so it's safe to say we will hear from the young pro plenty of times in the future.
