More PokerStars Team Pros getting cut

Not long ago, we reported that PokerStars has cut ties with several of it's Team Pros, including Angel Guillen, Humberto Brenes and Jose "Nacho" Barbero. Now they have parted ways with WSOP Main Event winner Joe Cada, Russian pro Alex Kravchenko and Marcel Luske.

As Humberto Brenes predicted, several more players have been cut from the Pro Team. Cada confirmed the news in his Twitter account, and it seems that there are no hard feelings between PokerStars and the 2009 WSOP Main Event winner, who is the only champion since 2001 to win a bracelet after winning the Main Event. He took down the $10,000 6-max event for $670,000 at the 2014 WSOP, to break the "Champion's Curse".

Another player who has been to the Main Event final table, 2007 4th place finisher Alex Kravchenko has also been dropped, and so has been Dutch poker legend Marcel Luske. The two players have roughly $9 million in combined tournament winnings, and the departure of Marcel Luske is quite surprising, since he is one of the most well-known players of his generation, and he is also the leader on the Dutch all-time tournament money list.

There are some rumours that Cada could be recruited for WSOP.com, who has recently signed Greg Merson as their poker ambassador, and is looking forward to adding other WSOP Main Event winners to their team, in an pro team called the "Gold Club".

Even though Cada has great live results, he is considered by most as an online grinder, so joining WSOP.com would definitely seem like a smart decision for both parties. Cada has his biggest scores on the World Series of Poker and has stated in the past how much he loves the WSOP, and for WSOP.com to have two players who received plenty of live coverage in the past few years, and also have immense online experience would definitely be of great promotion value.
