Partypoker Player Traffic Surges After New Loyalty System Introduced
We reported on the introduction of the new partypoker loyalty system that went into effect less than a month ago, May 22nd. Although it's only been three weeks, the poker room is already seeing the positive impact it has on their player traffic.
Partypoker is already one of the busiest poker rooms in the world, their network is currently ranked 4th in terms of player traffic. And it seems they're only going up as starting on May 22nd, the launch of their new loyalty program partypoker’s 7-day moving average of concurrent players has been increasing significantly, peaking at 1130 seats. This is especially impressive considering the fact that in the summer during the WSOP online poker rooms' traffic tend to stagnate at best. Partypoker is doing well in longer terms as well, their year-on-year traffic was up 6% in May and is projected to show a double-digit growth for June.
So what's so great about the new loayalty system?
First off, they're bringing back the rakeback, weekly. Every player gets a percentage back of what they raked a given week, depending on the amount. The lowers tier is $5 which gets you 20% back, but if you manage to rake $1,200 your cash back rake is 40%. What's more, for their really productive players raking at least $100,000 a year partypoker is offering the opportunity to join the Diamond Club. Diamond Club members get 50% of what they raked back, along with 24/7 VIP Skype support and other special perks.
Partypoker has also decided to cut back on S&G fees massively. This means 20-40% usually but, for example, for the Heads-up Hyper Turbo they went down to an industry low, 1.7%. Their Sit&Go Hero Special Edition has alos been launched: after taking into consideration costumer feedback, the poker room decided to offer an alternative to their regular S&G Hero, which is a 4-handed bounty tournament with a prize pool that is randomly selected by a spin. The special edition is only at the $50 level, and it's played 3-handed and without a bounty.
No wonder that all these changes had so positive reactions from players, especially at a time when PokerStars has gone under heavy criticism for increasing rake and cutting back on rakeback for their players.
Also, let us point out that partypoker hosts a $5,600 Exclusive Rake Race for rakerace.com members. You can find more information and join here.
