Patrik Antonius to launch poker app and tournament series

The legendary high-stakes gambler is trying his feet in areas aside from the green felt.

Despite his young age of 38, Patrik Antonius' life had several twists. The Finnish high-stakes poker pro has been one of the biggest winners of the online games, crushing the nosebleed cash games live with a number of massive tournament scores along the way. However, before his success at the poker tables, Patrik was a pro tennis player and also worked as a male model.

While his next journey is not as far from poker, Antonius is certainly working on projects he has less experience with. The Finnish legend has been surprisingly active in the live tournament series, playing much more tournaments than before from the Battle of Malta to the Triton Poker Series. Now we got the reason for his increased interest towards the tournament world.

Even though not much details have seen the daylight as of yet, it's now been announced, that Patrik will have his own tournament series. The Patrik Antonius Poker Challenge(PAPC) will offer 52 events, with buy-ins ranging between €0 to €25,000, hosted by the Olympic Park Casino and the Hilton Tallin Park in Estonia.

The highlights are the following:

  • €1,500 buy-in (Unlimited Re-Entry) No-Limit Hold’em Main Event 4 – 7 April
  • €5,200 Pot-Limit Omaha 4 April
  • €5,200 No-Limit Hold’em 5 April
  • €10,200 No-Limit Hold’em Championship Event 6-7 April
  • €25,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller 3 April

In addition to the tournaments, Patrik will also have a televised cash game, with Daniel 'Jungleman' Cates on the board.

As if these project wouldn't be enough, Patrik will also release his own poker app: First Land of Poker(FLOP). Other details haven't been disclosed, but the app is said to be revealed between April 1 and 7, during the PAPC.
