PokerStars releases Play Along application

PokerStars has released a new application for iOs and Android users, players have to successfully guess the players' actions during PokerStars streams, for which they will receive chips that can be used for weekly "Play Along" freerolls.

The World Series of Poker TV episodes have been using the so called "Wild Card Hand" concept for quite a few years, and the PokerStars EPT videos have also adopted it in recent years.

In these hands, viewers can only see the hole cards of a certain player and have to guess what the other players hold based on their actions. PokerStars has now taken the concept and built the Play Along application for it.

Users of the application can become a part of the PokerStars live streams or TV shows. In case a user successfully guesses the pro player's next decision, they will win tournament chips, but if they fail to guess correctly, they will lose chips.

Once a user has accumulated enough chips, they can use them to buy tickets to the Weekly Play Along freerolls, which have a $500 guaranteed prize pool.

Watching and examining the hands played by good players is one of the best ways to improve, and the Play Along app will give users the opportunity to do so while watching an exciting game.

PokerStars aims to turn a usually passive activity (watching TV/live stream) into a fun activity, and they hope that this will bring new players to the site.
