In the 7th hand of the final table Les doubled up through Koon in an A-A vs. K-K preflop all-in. Koon, who started the day as the chip leader was left with 188,000 chips, which he lost in the next hand with A-Q against Deeb's K-K.

During Level 23 (12,000/24,000) Deeb opened to 48,000 from the hijack, Sammartino raised the pot which was more than enough to put him all-in, and Deeb called. Sammartino showed K-K, dominating Deeb's 4-4, unfortunately for the Italian player, Deeb hit a 4 on the flop to eliminate him.

2012 WSOP Main Event champion Greg Merson finished in 5th place, he 3bet/called all-in with K-J but failed to improve against Volpe's A-Q.

Not much later Deeb repeated the move that sent Sammartino packing, and flopped a set on the flop with 9-9 against Stein's T-T.

Sam Stein was busted in Hand 43 of the final table, and the next elimination didn't take place until Hand 173, when Jason Les lost his stack with A-9 against Volpe's A-T.
