Stephen Chidwick leads record breaking €50,000 Super High Roller after Day 1

The EPT Barcelona €50,000 Super High Roller kicked off on Saturday with a huge field, by the end of the day there were a total of 93 entries (81 players and 12 reentries) which is already bigger than last years 77 total entries, and the registration is still open until the start of Day 2! Stephen Chidwick built the biggest stack, but Mike McDonald, Christoph Vogelsang and Steve O'Dwyer have also advanced to Day 2.

The poker festival in Barcelona kicked off in a spectacular manner, the Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event brought a record breaking field of more than 3,000 players and the €50,000 Super High Roller also broke the record, the winner is expected to take home more than €1,000,000!

The field is full of big names and the biggest stack after Day 1 belongs to British superstar Stephen ''stevie444'' Chidwick. Chidwick built his stack steadily during the day, in one of the bigger hands of the day he put his opponent, Chang He all-in on the turn on a board reading 9-8-4-2. Chang he thought for a while and eventually called all-in with K-9, unfortunately for him, Chidwick had J-J and the river didn't change anything.

On Day 2 the plan is to play down to the final table and Christoph Vogelsang, Mike McDonald, Ben Tollerene, Dani Stern and Igor Kurganov are just some of the names who have built big stacks and who are looking to win the historic, record breaking €50,000 Super High Roller.
