Zlatan Ibrahimovic declines PokerStars sponsorship offer

According to the Le Parisien, the star striker of French football club PSG, Zlatan Ibrahimobic has declined a PokerStars Team Sportstars sponsorship offer that would have earned him €3-4 million a year.

According to French newspaper Le Parisien the Swedish superstar of the Paris Saint-Germain football team, Zlatan Ibrahimovic received a sponsorship offer from PokerStars. The market leading online poker room wanted to recruit Ibrahimovic to their Team Sportstars branch, which currently includes Rafa Nadal and Brazilian football legend Ronaldo.

According to La Parisien, he would have received €3-4 million/year, which is a huge sum even when we take into consideration that Ibrahimovic currently earns €16 million/year at PSG, not to mention his TV ads and such.

It's currently unknown why the player, who regularly plays poker and has a tattoo of Pocket Aces on himself, refused the offer. Some believe that he is just too busy to take on sponsorship commitments, while others believe he declined the offer due to the fact that he has Muslim family members who are against gambling.
