Phil Ivey's edge sorting partner, Cheung Yin Sun involved in another lawsuit

Cheung Yin Sun has gained fame when it turned out she was the mysterious partner that accompanied Phil Ivey when he won millions at different casinos with the help of a technique called "edge-sorting". The casinos refused to pay out the winnings, stating that Ivey and his partner were cheating. Now she is involved in yet another lawsuit.

Sun has sued the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut for $3 million with two co-plaintiffs for withholding winnings and other damages.

Sun has been identified as the "Queen of Sorting" by a Connecticut attorney, which refers to her exceptional visual abilities that help her identify very subtle printing errors on cards. With this knowledge she could identify certain card's values on later deals.

This ability and the fact that the casinos granted her wishes (disguised as superstitions) like rotating cards and usage of mechanical card shufflers made it possible for her to win huge amounts of money.

Phil Ivey has previously sued Borgata Hotel & Casino in New Jersey for $9.8 million in withheld winnings where he won the money in a similar fashion.

The first edge sorting case that surfaced was when Ivey won roughly $12 million at the Crockfords Casino in London, and the casino refused to pay him, because according to them, Ivey and Sun won the money through illegal means.

This case is interesting because it happened in 2011, before Ivey and Sun played together.

Sun and Ivey both bring up the claim that the casino was freerolling them, meaning they would've had to pay for the losses, but were never to receive their winnings, because the casino had the edge-sorting claim ready.
