Gus Hansen doesn't show up for the Full Tilt Poker Heads Up Showdown

As we have previously reported, the two Full Tilt Professionals, Viktor "Isildur1" Blom and Gus Hansen were scheduled to play a best out of three heads-up Sit&Go match, with each Sit&Go played in a different poker variant. The winner would get $50,000, and players could also have a chance to win tournament tickets if they guessed the winner of the Showdown correctly. The promotion was well received, people were making their picks, but Gus Hansen has failed to show up for the start of the matches yesterday.

Instead of Gus, Team PokerStars Pro Jake Cody joined Isildur1 at the tables. Isildur1 won all three Sit&Gos and Full Tilt has not made any announcements yet regarding Gus' absence or why Jake Cody replaced him.

Full Tilt was also running a selfie promotion on Twitter, where you had to print out an Isildur1/Gus Hansen face, and post a selfie in a funny/extreme/cool situation, and a user on the 2+2 forums expressed his disappointment regarding the fact that Full Tilt didn't run this promotion well either, the winners of the promotion won by creating hundreds of Twitter accounts and re-tweeting their own photos. Full Tilt also announced the two winners and then changed one of them a couple of minutes later.

Players who correctly guessed the winner of the match were also supposed to win tickets to Flipout freerolls, but there is no information regarding these either.

Joe Ingram, who hosts a very popular poker podcast, wanted to live stream the heads up Sit&Gos and have them commentated by high-stakes pro Brian Hastings, and he is also visibly baffled by Hansen's absence. You can check out the matches Jake Cody played against Isildur1 in the video below.
