Vicente "vicenfish" Delgado Zamorano wins WCOOP $10,300 8-max High Roller tournament for $637,000

One of the most prestigious and highest-paying tournaments in the WCOOP schedule, Event #23, the $10,300 No Limit Holdem 8-max High Roller tournament, has attracted the finest players in poker, and produced an extremely tough final table, with players like Ankush "pistons87" Mandavia, Mustapha "lasagnaaammm" Kanit, Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky and Doug "WCGRider" Polk. In the end, Vicente "vicenfish" Delgado Zamorano (pictured below) won the title and the huge first place prize.

The 8-max High Roller had a $2 million guarantee, but the 322 entrants generated a prizepool of $3.65 million. Plenty of big names busted not far away from the final table, Shawn "buck21" Buchanan busted in 13th, Anton "antesvante" Wigg finished in 11th place, and the final table was set after T-Macha, who started Day 2 of the tournament as the chipleader, busted out in 9th.

The final table brought one of the toughest lineups in poker history. It had online tournament legends like Ankush "pistons87" Mandavia, high stakes cash game crushers Doug "WCGrider" Polk, Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky, Joel "Odonkor1" Nordkvist, as well as players who are also really successful in live tournaments, like Mustapha Kanit, who has had an amazing year with $1.6 million in winnings and Dimitar "KuuL" Danchev, winner of the 2013 PCA Main Event.

The first bustout was WCGRider, he jammed with a K4 from the small blind, unfortunately for him Sauce123 woke up with AA and WCGRider couldn't get there.

The next player to bust was Dimitar Danchev, he went all-in with AT but was behind Mustapha Kanit's KK, and he couldn't suck out either.

Odonkor1 finished in 6th place, he lost a coinflip with QJ against Kanit's 55 for his tournament life.

Next out the door was Sauce123, he got it in with TT against vicenfish's A6 suited, but vicenfish flopped top two pair which held up.

leoc00 busted in 4th place, he went all-in with 77, pistons87 called with the A4 and caught an Ace on the turn to send leoc00 packing.

During 3-handed play players discussed the possibilty of a chop, but couldn't come to an agreement. Not much later, Kanit went all-in with 88 from the button, vicenfish called with AT and caught two pair to send the young Italian pro to the rail.

The two remaining players discussed a chop again, and this time they managed to agree on the numbers, and left $40,000 aside for the winner, as well as the WCOOP bracelet and the glory.

After 20 minutes of heads-up play, pistons87 limped in from the button then called a raise to 90,000 from vicenfish (17,500/35,000 blind level). On the flop of 45T, two hearts, vicenfish bet 52,500, and snapcalled when pistons87 jammed all-in. pistons87 had AA for a slowplayed pair of Aces, while vicenfish has flopped a set with TT, and two cards later he was crowned as the champion of the 8-max high roller event, and won $637,436.

Ankush "pistons87" Mandavia has been considered one of the best tournament players in the world for years and it's safe to say that this $585,000 score was well due for him.
