Play began at the A$25,000 High Roller event on October 15, a total of 68 players entered, creating a prize pool of A$1.632.000. The 6-handed finale played out yesterday, with Canadian pro Mike "GoLeafsGoEh" Leah as the chipleader.

 Seat 1. Mike Leah - 2.576.000

Seat 2. Brian Roberts - 207.000

Seat 3. Jesse Sylvia - 580.000

Seat 4. Sam Khouiss - 106.000

Seat 5. Jonathan Duhamel - 358.000

Seat 6. David Yan - 1.278.000

The first player to bust was Brian Roberts, he jammed with AJ suited in the fifth hand of the finale, got called by David "MissOracle" Yan's QJ suited. Roberts was in good shape to double up but two Queens came on the flop to eliminate the young pro, who is most famous for starring in the poker TV show 2 Months 2 Million.

During Level 22 (15.000/30.000 blinds 5,000 ante) there was a huge hand that saw two players eliminated. Jesse Sylvia raised to 71,000 from the cutoff, Sam Khouiss shoved for 213.000, then Jonathan Duhamel re-raised all-in with roughly 400.000 chips, and Sylvia called to put both players at risk.

Showdown:

Sylvia: QQ

Duhamel: 99

Khouiss: A8

The flop was good news from Khouiss, since he managed to pair his Ace on the A-7-2 flop, but after the 8 on the turn, a Queen fell on the river to give Sylvia a set and to eliminate Duhamel in 4th and Khouiss in 5th place.

Leah still had a big chiplead over his two opponents after this hand, and soon eliminated Sylvia, who lost a big chunk of his stack after the double elimination hand.

Sylvia shoved with around 7 big blinds and 55, and was in great shape against Leah's K3 suited. The board came 4-2-4-K-K however, and the 2012 WSOP runner-up finished in third place.

Mike Leah - 3.340.000

David Yan - 1.765.000

Leah started the heads-up with a big lead, and Yan couldn't gain any momentum. He called all-in with 600.000 chips during Level 24 of the tournament (25.000/50.000/5000) with K4. Leah held K7 and managed to hold up on the 9-5-T-3-A board.

Mike Leah has had plenty of results this year before winning his first WSOP bracelet, he won two WSOP Circuit tournaments in one day, won a side event at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, and finished runner-up to Daniel Colman for more than $1 million in the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Main Event, amongst other scores, so the bracelet was well due for the Canadian pro.
