EPT Prague €50,000 Super High Roller - Leonid Markin leads final table, Martin Jacobson bubbles
32 players started Day 2 of the EPT Prague €50,000 Super High Roller, including some of the biggest names in the game. By the end of the day, it was Russian player Leonid Markin who managed to collect the most chips with his unorthodox playing style, while 2014 WSOP Main Event champion Martin Jacobson finished on the money bubble. Markin is going to have to overcome tough competition to claim the €771,360 first prize, as Paul Newey, Stephen Chidwick, Juha Helppi, Ivan Soshnikov, Brian Roberts and Vladimir Troyanovskiy are all in the hunt for the title.
The first player to fall was Jason Mercier, he lost with A-K against Brian Roberts' A-A. He was soon followed by Mike "Timex" McDonald, Mike Watson, Sorel Mizzi, Fedor Holz, Isaac Haxton, Olivier Busquet, Steve O'Dwyer, Ole Schemion and Tobias Reinkemeier amongst others.
The 7 paying spots were reached with the elimination of 2014 WSOP Main Event champ Martin Jacobson. In the final hand Ivan Soshnikov minraised to 80,000, and Jacobson shoved all-in for 360,000 from the button. The blinds got out of the way, and Soshnikov called.
Soshnikov: 4-4
Jacobson: A-K
Jacobson hit jackpot on the A-A-8 flop, but a 4 on the turn gave Soshnikov a full house, and Jacobson didn't manage to improve on the 5 river.
The finale will start with Leonid Markin in the lead, who has 3.35 million chips for a comfortable chiplead over the field, while Ivan Soshnikov reached the final table after final tabling both the EPT Prague Main Event, the EPT Prague High Roller in 2013.
