Zynga closes real money poker and casino services

The most popular play-money online poker site in the world used to be Zynga's Facebook application, and the company tried to convert the fans to real-money games with the launch of ZyngaPlusPoker and with the help of a bwin.party partnership. Their efforts didn't prove successful and ZyngaPlusPoker and ZyngaPlusCasino sites will be closing shortly.

The ZyngaPlus poker and casino products were introduced in April 2013 on the UK  market, but the company failed to turn their play-money users into actual depositing players on the site and withdrew focus from the project after only a couple of months.

Last Thursday, ZyngaPlus players were informed via e-mail that ZyngaPlusPoker and ZyngaPlusCasino will close their services shortly and that they should withdraw their balances.

At one point, many players believed that Zynga's poker offering could be the source of a new poker boom, but the new British gambling regulation and the low number of depositing players have made it difficult for them to make a real impact, and the fact that they withdrew their license application from the US market in 2013 meant that they competing in a much smaller market aswell.
