24,000 players expected for WSOP Colossus event

According to the organizers, players who want to participate in the $5,000,000 guaranteed, $565 buy-in WSOP Colossus should pre-register, because the WSOP is expecting a record amount of entrants for te tournament.

As we have previously reported, Caesars Entertainment released the schedule for the 2015 WSOP on February 2. There are a total of 68 events with payouts of almost $200 million.

The biggest buzz was generated by the $565 Colossus which has a $5 million guaranteed prize pool.

The WSOP expects the Colossus to be the biggest live tournament ever, on May 29 and 30 players can enter a total of four Flights. Each Flight will have two Late Wave registration opportunities so more players can join. 

Flight A and C can each host 6.350 players while Flight B and D will be able to host roughly 5.750 players.

In case each Flight reaches full capacity, there would be a total of 24.200 registrations. According to the organizers, a full tournament is likely, especially when we consider that players who bust out have the opportunity to register for additional Flights.

Caesars has asked players who wish to enter to pre-register, otherwise they might not have a spot, online pre-registration is available until May 12.

The tournament is scheduled to finish on June 2, but because of the huge field, it's possible that it will be delayed until June 3.
