WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown - Raj Vohra leads, Darren Elias sets new WPT record

Darren Elias busted out in the money at the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Main Event, making his 8th in-the-money finish in Season XIII of the WPT, which is a new record.

The tournament started on April 16 with a $3.500 buy-in and a $5 million guarantee, a total of 1476 players registered for the three starting days.

American pro Daryll Fish finished as the bubble boy in 151st place, his T-T failed to hold up against Bruce Snell's A-K. Fish was soon followed by Jeff Gross, Matt Salsberg, Jason Mercier, James Mackey, Keven Stammen and Darren Elias (116th place)

Elias set a new record with his in-the-money finish, he reached the paying spots for the 8th time in Season XIII. The previous record was held by Byron Kaverman with 7 ITM finishes, which both Elias and Anthony Zinno hit during this season.

There is still one stop, so Zinno could tie Elias for the record, or Elias could make future players' efforts even harder by cashing for 9th time at the final WPT event of the season.

Elias had an amazing run in Season XIII, he won WPT Borgata ($843.744) and WPT St. Maarten ($127.580) and finished 69th in WPT Montreal ($6.318), 47th in the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic ($22.737), 11th at WPT Fallsview Poker Classic ($22.104), 46th in WPT L.A. Poker Classic ($22.660) and 15th at the WPT Rolling Thunder ($14.968).

The chip leader of the tournament is currently Raj Vohra, but players like Mohsin Charania, Jared Jaffee, Faraz Jaka and legendary WPT commentator Vince Van Patten are also still in the hunt for the $1.000.000 first place prize.
