SCOOP 2015 - 2 days, 2 titles for Jason Mercier

PokerStars Team Pro Jason Mercier started off the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) with a blast, winning two titles in two days. Other big names who made big scores in the Championship include Fedor "CrownUpGuy" Holz, €urop€an, Sorel "zangbezan24" Mizzi and Mohsin "chicagocards1" Charania.

The SCOOP has only been running for three days, but some big names have already claimed a title, including Jason Mercier, who won two events in two days for almost $75,000 total.

Mercier, who already has a SCOOP title from last year (Event #34-M $215 8-Game, $21.242) started off by winning Event #5-H, a $2.100 FL Badugi tournament for $39.200 after he defeated a field of 56 players.

The following day he once again won a title, this time it was Event #8-H, a $2.100 NL Draw tournament. The field was small (just 43 players) but packed with online and live superstars, including Mike "SirWatts" Watson, Vladimir "GVOZDIKA55" Schemelev, Fedor "CrownUpGuy" Holz, Alexander "joiso" Kostritsyn, Calvin "cal42688" Anderson, George Danzer and Daniel "w00ki3z" Cates.

Mercier received $34.400 for his efforts and jumped on top of the SCOOP 2015 leaderboard with 260 points which is a hefty lead over Legenden, who is sitting in second place with 135 points.

It is not unusal to see Mercier crush online events, he has two WCOOP titles, a WCOOP 2nd Chance title and a FTOPS title in addition to his three SCOOP titles.

Last year's WCOOP Main Event champ Fedor "CrownUpGuy" Holz won the first SCOOP title of his career, winning Event #8-L $27 NL Draw in a field of 1807, earning $7.099.

Sorel "zangbezan24" Mizzi won a title, he defeated a field of 986 players in Event #3-H, a $2.100 NLHE tournament, earning $354.960 and besting his second place finish from last year's $2.100 NLHE SCOOP event ($278.980).

€urop€an won Event #6-H, a $700 NLHE Heads-up tournament, earning $71.985, while Mohsin "chicagocards1" Charania won the $1,050 No Limit Hold'em Turbo event in a field of 1100 players. Charania, who plays on PokerStars under the screenname "sms9231" defeated Ryan "urbanlights" Yu in heads-up to win $198,000 and his second SCOOP title (the first one came in a $2.100 No Limit Hold'em Event in 2010 for $380,000).

Today the 2015 SCOOP will continue with Event #11, a Fixed Limit 2-7 Triple Draw tournament, Event #12, a No Limit Hold'em Ante Up event and Event #13, a Stud tournament.
