GVC Holdings and Amaya make joint €1.5 billion offer for bwin.party

Just a few days ago, we have reported that 888 Holdings has submitted a draft for the purchase of bwin.party. One day later however, there was a new development in the bwin.party bidding/acquisition war, as GVC Holdings and Amaya have officially announced that they made an offer for the company.

According to Financial Times, GVC Holdings and Amaya have created a new company for the acquisition where GVC is the majority owner and they have already made a €1.5 billion offer for bwin.party.

Financial Times is on the opinion that in case the transaction is successful, the whole online poker section from bwin.party will go to Amaya, but it's not clear how the rest of the assets will be divided, since the sports betting section could be important for both companies.

PokerStars is planning to launch it's sports betting service in Q3 of 2015, while GVC Holdings is operating Sportingbet.
