MGM Resorts declines Phil Ruffin's $1,3 billion offer for The Mirage

Phil Ruffin is a businessman and high-stakes poker player who appeared on the famous GSN TV show High Stakes Poker and was regular at the World Series of Poker. He is the owner of Treasure Island Hotel & Casino, which he bought in 2009 for $775 million and now he is looking to make an even bigger purchase.

The Mirage is one of the biggest casinos in Las Vegas and is owned by MGM Resorts. Phil Ruffin made a huge, $1,3 billion bid but he was declined, even though the bid easily covered the value of the casino.

According to several news reports, the reason for MGM's refusal is that The Mirage sits on a very valueable piece of land that MGM Resorts wants to keep.

It's currently unknown whether Ruffin will make another bid, but based on the video below, once he sets his mind on something, you can't stop him.
