Fedor Holz wins $111,111 High Roller for One Drop

The German superstar has defeated Dan Smith in heads-up to claim the $4,981,775 first place prize and the first WSOP bracelet of his career. Holz has cashed for almost $15 million this year and with the win in the One Drop, he now sits in 9th place on the all-time tournament money list.

The biggest buy-in tournament of this year's World Series, Event #67: $111,111 High Roller for One Drop No Limit Hold'em kicked off on July 8. There were a total of 183 entries, creating a prize pool of $19,316,565 ($11,111 from every buy-in went to the One Drop charity).

Day 3 kicked off with just 13 players in the hunt for the $4,981,775 first place prize, the chipleader was Dan Smith with 22,500,000 chips.

The first player to be eliminated was Antonio Esfandiari, he was soon followed by David Steicke and Adrian Mateos. The unofficial final table was set with the elimination of Brandon Steven the 9 remaining players continued on one table.

During Level 22 (120,000/240,000 - 40,000 ante), Scott Seiver shoved for 2,660,000 chips from the hijack and Fedor Holz called from the small blind. Seiver showed A-J while Holz had 4-4 and the pocket pair held up on the 9-3-2-7-3 board.

EPT Malta champion Niall "firaldo87" Farrell finished in 8th place after running his T-T into Joe McKeehen's Q-Q and Nick Petrangelo busted soon after, as his J-9 couldn't outdraw Holz's 4-4.

Joe McKeehen busted in 6th place, the executioner was once again Holz, he flopped a nut flush against McKeehen's second nut flush.

One hand later Holz shoved from the cutoff with A-9 and Brian Green called all-in with a smaller stack and T-T. The board ran out A-5-5-A-6 and Holz increased his stack to 45,475,000.

The next hand, Holz shoved from the cutoff and Jack Salter called all-in with T-T for 9,600,000 chips. Holz got lucky once again on the K-Q-6-5-J board and Salter was sent packing in fourth.

The heads-up was set with the elimination of Koray Aldemir, he ran his 7-7 into Dan Smith's 9-9 and couldn't improve.

Smith managed to take over the lead for a short while, but by Level 26 (400,000/800,000 - 100,000 ante) Holz was in the lead once again.

In the 133th hand of the finale Holz limped in, Smith raised to 2,500,000, Holz shoved and Smith called all-in for 20,275,000.

Holz showed 8-7 suited while Smith had A-9 suited and the German pro got lucky once again, hitting a straight on the T-9-2-6-A board.

Holz won $4,981,775 and his first WSOP bracelet. With the score, he increased his live tournament earnings to $18,495,174, which puts him in 9th place on the all-time tournament money list.
