WSOP ME Casher Shot Naked by the Police in Las Vegas

In July Jason Funke finished 490th out of the over 7,200-player field in this year's WSOP Main Event. A great achievement for any poker player, but apparently his life took a turn to the worse shortly after that: on August 5th, he was shot in the shoulder by the Las Vegas police after brandishing a loaded handgun completely naked in front of a church.

The 25-year-old cardplayer had a very successful WSOP behind him, on top of his Main Event cash he finished ITM in two other NLHE events.

It's unknown what prompted him to lose control of himself so horribly, but on August 5th around 11 am the police was called on him after he showed up naked with a loaded handgun to the garden of the Life Spring Christian Church. He'd been known to the congregation there before the incident and donated to the church too.

Funke dropped his gun and held his hands up as he was told when he first saw law enforcement show up, he started walking towards the canine unit then had a sudden change of heart and started running back to his gun that he left lying on the ground.

Funke was charged with indecent exposure and possession of a dangerous weapon. You can watch the police video footage of the incident below.
