Molly's Game to hit movie theaters this month

The movie that gives fascinating insight into the world of Hollywood's private pokergames is about to be released.

The 'poker princess' Molly Bloom

Molly Bloom. This name might not ring a bell to most pokerfans but she's one of the most important figures in the private world of high stakes games in Hollywood. Molly started her carreer in Hollywood as an assistant at a real estate company and was asked by his boss to help him organizing his private poker games. Thanks to her abilities to connect with people and build good relationships she quickly started to run her own games. Her luxurious venues attracted world famous A-list celebrities like Ben Affleck, Leonardo DiCaprio or Toby Maguire who battled against business moguls and billionaires for millions of dollars at the tables.

The movie which marks Aaron Sorkin's debut as a director will replace Kevin Spacey's "All the Money in the World" at the American Film Institute Festival on November 16th, because of a scandal involving Spacey. The plot is based on Bloom's similarly named book released in 2014. The movie stars Jessica Chastain as Molly Bloom, Idris Elba as her lawyer and Kevin Costner as her father. "If you're a poker player, you'll enjoy the poker scenes" stated Sorkin but a lot of poker enthusiast is yet to be convinced.
