2018 Aussie Millions - In Melbourne even the poker games are hot
The 2018 Aussie Millions Poker Championship kicked off last week and the first two champions have already been crowned.
Benedikt Eberle
The series started with Flight 1 of the No Limit Hold'em - Opening Event (Event #1). The event has already ended, with Benedikt Eberle getting the first place prize of A$315,295($250,897) and the ANTON ring coming with it. This was by far the biggest score of the Austrian players, as his total live tournament earnings amount for $254,676. Benedikt outlasted a hefty field of 1,538 during the process. He beat Canadian, Michael Adamo in the heads-up, who also booked his biggest cash ever, in form of the A$194,690($154,925) prize.

Event #2: $2,500 H.O.R.S.E has also ended. Local Melbourne player, Salvatore Ribbera was the last man standing. Salvatore managed to beat a field of 49 and he took down A$39,700($31,852) first place prize as well as the prestigious ANTON ring. Ribbera cashed for the second time in his life at the Aussie Millions as he got 4th in 2011 in the A$550 No Limit Hold'em event.
Salvatore Ribbera
He started the final table with the 4th biggest chip stack and had to face accomplished pros with seven-figure live tournament earnings, like Richard Ashby or Christopher Bolek and of course chip leader Jarred Graham also hade high hopes for the trophy.
Mark Betts was the first player to be busted, as he finished 6th for A$7,710. He was followed by Ashby (5th; A$8,825), Graham (4th; A$12,125) and Bolek (3rd; A$16,535).
Greg Cook and Ribbera remained the last two at the table. Ribbera, who had five runner-up places from his earlier career has finally managed to catch his first win. Cook earned A$25,355 for finishing 2nd, while the champion got A$39,700 richer.
