Poker pros bet big on the US Poker Open

It looks like the big buy-ins and the six-figure prizes don't get players excited enough, they made bets of $50,000 against each other.

Daniel Negreanu is pretty confident (which he can be with his $35+ million live tournament earnings) as he made several side bets against his peers for the US Poker Open. Daniel and other top pros with the likes of last year's biggest tournament winner, Brynn Kenney or Frenchman Benjamin Pollack.

The player, who accumulates the most money in the 9 tournaments of the series will win the bet. Daniel bets against several players, so he's looking to make big money on the side bets in addition to the prizes if he wins. He only made one exception, offering a $250k bet against, the great Phil Hellmuth. As of this time, nobody took the bet. Negreanu and Hellmuth are famous for their beef in which they regularly berate each others game.

A little needle for Hellmuth

Looking at the buy-ins it's safe to say that the prizes will be huge by themselves, with the first place prize likely reaching seven-figures for the $50,000 Main Event. Daniel offered the same bet during the Poker Masters. Back then he wagered with around 20 players, but couldn't manage to win the bet, as Steffen Sontheimer was the most winningest player of the series, with $2.8 million in cashes.
