Romain Arnaud takes down Jeju Red Dragon SHR for $668K
The French high-stakes cash game regular beat Rui Cao heads-up.
The PokerStars LIVE Asia Jeju Red Dragon kicked off last weekend and will offer plenty of exciting high-stakes tournament until December 9. The ₩60M ($54,000) buy-in Red Dragon Super High Roller generated a total of 44 entries (30 unique entrants and 14 re-entries), who created a prize pool of more than $2.2 million.
It was Frenchman, Romain Arnaud, who was the last man standing, after beating fellow French pro, Rui Cao in the duel. The two worked out an ICM-deal and then decided to go all-in blind every hand to decide the winner. Both of them received about $600K and they left another $68K for the winner.
It was Arnaud, who finally came out on top when his K-8 suited held against the Ten-deuce offsuite of Cao's on a board which read QcJd5cAhJh. "Everyone played well at the final table, and it was nice to end up playing heads-up against my very good friend Rui Cao," Arnaud said after the victory. "It's a good feeling, but I'm predominantly a cash game player and that's what I'll be sticking to."
PokerStars LIVE Jeju Red Dragon Super High Roller Results This was the biggest ever score for Romain, his only dated tournament result is a $207,429 score for his 9th place finish from this year's HK$500,000 No Limit Hold'em Main Event in the Philippines.
