Manuel "Sheparentao" Ruivo wins MILLIONS Online for $2.3 Million

The Portuguese made a deal in the heads-up against Dutch player, Pim de Goede.

Partypoker's MILLIONS Online event lived up to the hype that proceeded it, with a total of $21,385,000 in prizes and seven-digit scores for the top 4 finishers. The final day started with only 29 players remaining, lead by Mexican, "wheatforsheep". There were a couple of household names in the field, the most well-known being Christopher "Ad_Finem" Kruk and "BenCB" (or "mwhldwn" on Partypoker), Chance Kornuth and Jon "ICMslut99" Clark.

However, none of the aforementioned players managed to scoop the event, and only "wheatforsheep" made it to the final table of eight. Online tournament beast, "BenCB" busted in 23rd place for $81,881.25, Chance finished 22nd for the same amount, while Jon got eliminated in 19th place for $109,175 and Chris Kruk got 11th for $163,762.50.

The final table started with Pedro "Maddonaa" Marques holding the slight lead over "whatforsheep". However, it didn't take long for Pim "ForMatherRussia" de Goede to take the lead and he was able to increase it after eliminating several of his opponents. He took advantage of his increasing lead and soon found the vast majority of the chips in play in front of him.

The players kept busting at the hands of Pim, as he sent former chip leader "wheatforsheep" (7th; $491,287), "COL_Moutarde" (6th; $655,050) to the rail. Then "j2805667" busted in 5th place, when he put his last 3 big blinds into the middle with Ace-jack suited against "Shaprentao", who held Q-7 and managed to outdraw the better starting hand. "j2805667" earned $818,812.50.

The remaining four were all guaranteed at a seven-figure payday and it was "Maddonaa", who became the first millionaire of the MILLIONS Online after failing to outdraw the Jacks of Manuel with K-7. "Maddonaa" received $1,091,750 for his performance.

The biggest story of the tournament was certainly created by third-place finisher, Blaz "Scarmak3r" Zerjav, who got a seat to the event, playing a $5 satellite and turned it into $1,364,687.

After his elimination, the two remaining players instantly made a deal. Manuel "Sheparentao" Ruivo received $2,329,943.88 and became the champion, while Pim "ForMatherRussia" de Goede made $2,309,944.87 for his runner-up finish.
