Farid Jattin tops $25,000 Players Championship after Day2
The total prize pool exceeds $26.4 million, with six seven-figure prizes.
The registration period at the event closed yesterday, with the final number of 1,039 - which is the new record for the biggest field in a $25K tournament. The field has already got down to 207, but none of the remaining participants is guaranteed for a payday yet, as only 181 places are paid.
Colombian, Farid Jattin is the current chip leader, he will return to Day3 with a stack of 921,000, which is more than 150 big blinds. Farid's first tournament score dates back to 2010, and he accumulated almost $3 million since then, making him the most winningest player in his country.
He's followed by high-roller regular, Mustapha Kanit, who accumulated 888,000 and Griffin Benger, who has 885,000. The remaining field is still full of tough competition, with the likes of Day1 chip leader, Talal Shakerchi (691,000), Kristen Bicknell (631,000), Christoph Vogelsang (483,000), Dan Shak (451,000), Benjamin Pollak (299,000), or Mikita Badziakouski (156,000).
All of them has several million reasons to play there best, as the winner will walk away with a $5.1 million prize and even the 6th place finisher will be a millionaire.
Place | Prize (USD) |
1 | $5,100,000 |
2 | $2,974,000 |
3 | $2,168,000 |
4 | $1,657,000 |
5 | $1,304,000 |
6 | $1,012,000 |
The event will continue with Day3 on Tuesday at noon local time, with the blinds of 4,000/8,000 and a big blind ante of 8,000. Stay tuned for the updates!
There were several notables to bust during the day, with the likes of Eric Baldwin, Joseph Cheong, Jen Harman, Martin Jacobson, Lauren Roberts, or
Thomas Muehloecker. However, considering the wide variety of high-roller tournaments running in the upcoming days, they'll have plenty of opportunities to hit a big payday.
The $50,000 Single-Day High Roller will kick off tomorrow, followed by the $100,000 PCA Super High Roller on Thursday and the $100,000 Single-Day High Roller on Saturday.
