PCA Main Event Reaches Final 20

The remaining field is made up by a number of household names and a few lesser-known players.

The $10,300 Main Event at this year's PCA generated a total of 865, but there are only 20 men standing after the end of Day3.

It is Canada's Tommy Nguyen (cover photo), who will return with the biggest stacks, he accumulated 2,705,000, but Jeff Hakim (2,640,000), Daniel Sterlitz (2,615,000), and Austrian high-roller regular Matthias Eibinger (2,485,000) follow him closely.

Several pros managed to hang in, some of them will even return with a sizeable stack. High stakes Matt Berkey (1,570,000) and Christoph Vogelsang (1,240,000), WPT champ Brian Altman (1,785,000), Chino Rheem (1,425,000), Mihai Manole (1,325,000), Simon Deadman (750,000), Aussie Millions champ Ami Barer (570,000), and Danny Tang (245,000) still have a great chance to take home the $1,567,100.

All of them are guaranteed a $60,840 payday, but those who manage to make the final table of eight will take home at least $146,840.

The action will continue at noon local time, at blinds of 10,000/25,000/25,000 and Day4 is scheduled to cut down to the final six.

While they were busy gathering chips in the Main Event, both the $50,000 Single Day High Roller and the $25,000 Single Day High Roller ended. Long-time high-roller, Timothy Adams scooped the first one for $372,508, while the most winningest tournament player, Justin Bonom managed to win the latter for $383,650.

Thanks to a heads-up deal, the biggest winner in the $50K event was actually UK's Stephen Chidwick, who added $423,822 to his bankroll despite losing to Adams.

Jesus Cortez was the runner-up in the $25K, taking home $265,200 this time. The Spaniard is having a great PCA, considering almost $1.1 million of his $1,921,961 all-time winnings is coming from the event. He booked his biggest score ever a few days earlier when he made $828,560 in the $100K Super High Roller after finishing 3rd.
