Brian Green is the first WSOP champion this year
Both Negreanu and Imsirovic fell short on their way to the gold bracelet.
The first champion of this year's WSOP has been crowned after Brian Green outlasted a 203-entry-strong field in the $10,000 Super Turbo Bounty (Event #2) . Green beat Ali Imsirovic heads-up to claim the bracelet and the $345,669 coming with it.
Even though Green was not the most accomplished player in the final six, Daniel Negreanu (6th; $52,099), three-time bracelet winner Loren Klein (4th; $100,775) and young high-roller Imsirovic (2nd; $213,644) all had to settle as he was unstoppable this time.

Final day recap
Green was able to double up early on, after calling Klein's all-in with king-jack in a blind-on-blind situation. On the 29th blind-level (60K-120K/120K), Negreanu shoved all-in from the button, with ace-jack and was in a good shape against Klein's queen-jack. However, the latter was lucky enough to hit a queen on the turn to bust Daniel. The long-time pro busted in 6th place for $52K. He was followed by Ping Liu (5th; $71,614), Klein and Asher Conniff (3rd; $145,097).
Imsirovic started the heads-up from behind but was able to even the stacks. He was in great shape when going all-in in the final hand, holding kings against the ace-nine of Green's but the latter managed to river trip nines and close out the tournament.
The $500 Casino Employees Event reached its final six, with Isaac Hanson as the chip leader. Isaac will return to the table with a 5,550,000 stack, which equals to 45 big blinds. The winner in this event will take home $62,345, while $9,776 is already guaranteed for all of the remaining six.
