Sergi Reixach takes down Poker Masters Event #8
The Spaniard booked his second biggest win in form of the $369,000 score.
The Event #8 $25,000 NLH is in the books at this year's Poker Masters, with Spanish pro, Sergi Reixach coming out on top.
“Everything went in my favor today. When I bluffed, it worked, when I called they were bluffing. I was very lucky today,” Reixach said after closing out the tournament.
Reixach busted every player at the final table on his way to victory. The event generated 41 entries, and as usual, it was the who is who of the poker world. However, as only six players walked away with a prize, no one could take the money for granted until the six-handed final table.
It started with a huge hand, where Sergi managed to bust two opponents in one hand. The hand saw Sean Winter opening and András Németh coming over the top. Then came Sergi, who accidentally flipped over his hand too early.
However, this couldn't stop him from busting both Winter and Németh, who busted in 6th and 5th place for $61,500 and $82,000 respectively.
The next player to go was Sam Soverel, who took the number one spot on the 2019 Poker Masters Championship Leaderboard with this $102,500 score.
Start of the day chip leader, Orpen Kisacikoglu was Sergi's next victim even though he was in a big lead with jacks over eights. The Spaniards, however, managed to make quads and eliminated the Turkish.
Orpen added $164,000 to his bankroll after finishing the 3rd.
Sergi started the duel against George Wolff and busted him holding aces on a queen-high flop. Wolff received a nice consolation prize of $246,000 while Reixach took down the $369,000 prize and added 300 championship points to his name.
