Sam Soverel wins Purple Jacket

The American cash game regular is the overall champion of the 2019 Poker Masters.

"I just like being in action all the time"

Sam Soverel became the overall champion of the prestigious tournament festival, after coming out on top in the final event. His triumph in the Event #10: $50,000 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event was his seventh cash during the series.

The 34-entry strong field created a $1.7 million prize pool with $680,000 for the winner. The final table was made of the toughest players in the world. It was last year's overall champ, Ali Imsirovic, who became the bubble boy, busting in 6th, leaving the table empty-handed.

The min-cash of $136,000 went to Seth Davies' way after finishing 5th place. Seth's run ended with a huge cooler, which saw him holding queens against the kings of Soverel's.

He was followed by Stephen Chidwick, who busted identically. His queens fell against the kings of Chris Hunichen's. UK's biggest winner added $170,000 to his live tournament earnings, which now stand at a staggering $32,372,135.

WSOPE Main Event champ, Elio Fox busted in third in a full house over full house hand against Sam. He received a paycheck of $272,000 for his performance.

Soverel started the heads-up against Hunichen, holding a huge lead over "Big Huni". In the final hand, Sam shoved with Q-T which managed to come out on top against deuces. Chris walked away with a $442,000 prize, while Sam added $680,000 to his Poker Masters winnings.

This massive score boosted his overall winnings to $1,396,800.
