Timothy Adams wins first-ever Super High Roller Bowl Australia
The Canadian high-roller regular outlasted a star-studded field of only 16 entries for the seven-figure payday.
The first Super High Roller Bowl Australia event had a massive buy-in of $250,000 meaning, that only the world's very best and the most successful businessmen were able to enter. With the field of only 16 entries, only the top three finishers walked away with a prize.
This time, it was Aaron van Blarcum who busted in the bubble, leaving empty-handed. He put his last chips into the middle holding ace-three of clubs against the pocket nines of local star, Kahle Burns.
PokerGO founder Cary Katz managed to finish 3rd, which meant an AU$640,000 (~$428,168) payday for him. He left Burns and Timothy at the table. Adams was able to build a lead over his opponent, thanks to winning a big pot holding A2 against the K-T of Burns' on a board that read A-5-K-9-5.
The Aussie then tried to extract max value with KQ on a 3-J-5-Q-3 board which had three diamonds but had to face a river shove from Timothy who had AT of diamonds for the nut flush. Kahle used all of his time banks to make a decision but eventually clicked the wrong button and made the call - which ended the tournament.
With this $1,444,831 win, Adams now has over $20.6 million in total live earnings, while Kahle stands with $10.3 million. Before finishing as the runner-up in the $250K even, he managed to take down the $100K for $1,197,663.
