Major poker are postponed/canceled worldwide

The COVID-19 (aka coronavirus) also has a huge impact on live poker events, including Triton stops.

Probably everyone on this planet has heard about the world-wide pandemic, called the coronavirus, which is rapidly spreading across borders all around the world.

Several countries have announced drastic steps to prevent an even higher number of infections, including limits for sports events, concerts and apparently poker tournaments.

Operators, who have several events with live stops scheduled for the upcoming months are having tough times deciding how to deal with the epidemic.

Key players of the industry including PokerStars, partypoker, the World Poker Tour (WPT), Unibet Poker, 888poker, Triton and Winamax have all been affected and announced postponing or completely cancelling their events.

“In terms of the PSPC, we are treating all of our events on a case by case basis,” reads a statement from PokerStars issued to PokerIndustry PRO. “At this stage, the PSPC is going forward as planned. We will keep everyone up to speed if anything changes as we progress towards the event.”
