EPT San Remo – Liv Boeree, Queen of the Riviera

The stunning poker player Liv Boeree is once again in the spotlight after winning the PokerStars European Poker Tour San Remo event, beating the online professional Jakob ’mendieta19’ Carlsson in the heads-up.

The final 8-player table of the €5,300 buy-in EPT Main Event in San Remo started with the 22 year-old Swedish online poker player Jakob ’mendieta19’ Carlsson having a superior advantage over everyone else. Carlsson had almost three times the amount of chips as the 18 year-old Toni Petterson who came in second after the chip count.

Following ferocious battles and aggressive gameplay, there stood only two players left: Liv Boeree and Jakob Carlsson ended up playing heads-up against each other.  The final heads-up played like an action-packed movie with a twist. It finally came down to Carlsson going all-in with A6o and getting called by Liv, holding a pair of fives. The fives lasted, and Liv Boeree came out glorious, securing the title of the Main Event and thereby becoming the third woman ever to win an EPT title.

This has been the biggest amount of winnings in the career of the gorgeous British pin-up girl, the second was the Ladbrokes Poker European Ladies Championship, where she grabbed the first place and $42,000.

Olivia “Liv” Boeree is a poker professional, as well as TV host and model from the UK. Born in 1984, Liv  got familiar with the poker industry after having been selected as one of five contestants in the reality TV show ‘Ultimatepoker.com Showdown’. Upon completion of the series, Liv started taking poker more seriously and decided to become a poker professional, and in 2006, she became the TV host and journalist for Gutshot TV at the World Series Of Poker in Las Vegas. As of 2010 her total live tournament winnings exceed $1,900,000.
