Chris Moneymaker Interview at WSOP 2010

PokerNewsDaily made an interview with Chris Moneymaker at the 2010 WSOP Main Event. Moneymaker is a legend, and a true hero of his era, he, the Tennessee accountant who managed to win the 2003 WSOP Main Event has inspired many people to get to know and get to love poker (also known as the 'Moneymaker Effect').

In the interview he talks about how his game is going at the tables, and we can get a sneek peek on his Day 1 strategy. He also talks about the latest addition to the Team PokerStars Pro line, and talks about the 'intimate' relationship between the Pros.

His motto now is: "Don't do anything stupid". This is an advice to be kept in my opinion.

Of course he didn't surrender, contacted the government, exchanged a few emails, and now it's a legit, real profession in the US according to the Department of Labor. How? Read his story below.

Brunson Blog

Brunson gives us his insightful opinion on the nominees, one by one, and makes it clear he would prefer Erik Seidel to be one of the inductees, the other being either Barry Greenstein or Phil Ivey. He addresses all of the ten as his friends and doesn’t fear to be honest about them. Daniel Negreanu, for instance, he considers too young to be inducted yet, similarly to Jennifer Harman-Traniello, while he states Chris Ferguson, although strong in three of the five criteria, doesn’t meet the other two at all.

The last WPT event, held at the Borgata, was won by Dwyte Pilgrim, beating a field of 1,042 players, a record in WPT history. In the showdown of the heads-up against Kia Mohajeri, Pilgrim flopped a King-high straight, making it easy for him to call Mohajeri’s all-in, who showed KSpade 9Clubs for two pairs.

What Festa AL Lago brings, remains to be seen. I believe that even half of the excitement of the Borgata Open would make this another exceptional tourney.

Check out the schedule of the WPT tournament here.

You might notice the new PokerStars ad that have been airing on TV, but if you have not, you can now watch it here! The half-a-minute video portrays a hand through the eyes of Daniel Negreanu, Chris Moneymaker, Joe Cada and Jason Mercier. Nothing fancy technical stuff, just the feeling of a hand played at PokerStars. Check it out, I think it's brilliant.

Phil Hellmuth still haven't improved. Once the best poker player in the world is now only the 4th in the All Time Money List with $12,440,926. Winning 11 bracelets, no one can come close to his achievements, and of course he is a talented and witty player, however, he hasn't won a single tournament for more than 3 years now.
