Mike Gorodinsky was the only player to bust on the first day, Josh Arieh and Justin Bonomo are in the lead.
Day1 at the $50,000 Poker Players Championship (EV#58) has ended, with 63 players advancing to Day2 from the original field of 64. Former champ, Mike "gordo" Gorodinsky was the only one, who fell during the opening day, at the hands of current chip leader, Josh Arieh. The latter accumulated 658,500 but Justin Bonomo is following him really close, with a 646,100-strong stack.
The top ten includes several regulars of the high-stakes cash game scene of Las Vegas and LA, like Jared Bleznick, David Oppenheim and Prahlad Friedman.

As usual, the most prestigious event amongst pros attracted many of the greatest all-around players. John Hennigan, David Benyamine belong to the top ten, but guys like Mikael Thuritz (12nd; 411,500), Stephen Chidwick (13th; 411,000), Ike Haxton (14th; 410,200), Talal Shakerchi (16th; 386,900), living legend Lyle Berman (17th; 382,300), David "ODB" Baker (18th; 369,700) or Shaun Deeb (19th; 364,600) will all return with a sizeable chip stack.
Mike Gorodinsky, the only casualty of the day
There are several guys, who'll need to have a quick start on Day2 since all of them are below the 25-big-blind mark. Nick Schulman has exactly 25 with 125,000, Daniel Negreanu is even shorter with 72,700, while Julien Martini ended the day with 18,900 which is less than three big blinds.
Day2 will begin at 2 p.m. on Tuesday local time on the 2,500/5,000 blind level.
