Daniel Strelitz takes down $5,000 NLH Event

The WSOP is still going on at full speed, with record-breaking events and life-changing scores!

Several events ended yesterday at the World Series, including the $5,000 NL Hold'em (EV#11). The event attracted 400 players, who created a prize pool of $1,860,000, with $442,385 for the champion. A total of 60 players reached the money, the min-cash was $7,476.

The first player to bust ITM was Farid Jattin but Adrian Mateos was also amongst the early casualties. The young Spaniard exited in 57th place for the same prize. Several notables made deep runs including $50,000 High-roller runner-up, Andrew "Luckychewy" Lichtenberger (53rd; $8,104), Toby Lewis (49th; $8,104), partypoker [3]'s Jason Koon (41st; $9,007), winner of the $50K event, Benjamin Heath (33rd; $10,260), Niall Farrell (26th; $11,969) but Hollywood producer Randall Emmett (10th; $21,812) also got closer to paying his debt to 50 Cent.

After 99 hands on the final table, Daniel Sterlitz closed out the event, and put his hands on his first gold bracelet. Sterlitz beat Shannon Shorr heads-up.

"I'm feeling pretty good, I finally got it off my back. I came close a few times so it was kinda disappointing but it wasn't like I was desperate for one. It wasn't a void in my life or anything. It's just a massive relief, I'm super happy."

After making a number of final tables in the past, Daniel was finally able to take down a WSOP event, as he disclosed it surrounded by his parents: "It's awesome, my parents are my biggest fans. All my friends have bracelets and they have been needling me about the bracelet winners event this year. And now they're saying that they have a ride to the event cause I'm the car. So, they don't get to needle me anymore."

The star-studded final table saw Michael O'Grady busting first, followed by Pauli Ayras, Asenii Karmatckii, and Maria Ho. Rising star Ali Imsirovic made yet another final table at this year's series, busting in 4th place this time for $129,018.

Serbia's Ognjen Sekularac captured the third step of the podium, which earned him $186,050.
