Canadian WSOP champion and Full Tilt Red Pro Scott Montgomery got robbed yesterday in one of the restrooms of the Bellagio. He handed over $2,000.

Montgomery had some successful year in 2010 so far: he won his first WSOP championship ($1,000 NLHE) and in his private life he has recently started a relationship with Norwegian poker pro Annette Obrestad. On Sunday, 10th October, however, he had the most unpleasant experience of being robbed by a man armed with a knife. Montgomery tweeted [4] the following on the encounter:
“Got mugged today at Bellagio. Black guy pulled a knife on me in the restroom. I gave him the $2k in my wallet and he left. I called security, but they took like 15 mins so they didn't catch him. They are useless twits. Didn't even ask me to look at camera footage. Security pretty much just said oh well, life sucks, have a nice day. I'm pretty annoyed.”
Frequently playing host to several of the most famous poker events and pros, the issue is quite awkward for the casino. Let’s hope security is fixed before long...
