The first player to be eliminated was Christopher Kusha, he was soon followed by Postma, Saout and Krach.

The biggest pot of the first levels was one played by James Obst and Michael Ruane. Four players looked at the Q-J-7 (two clubs) flop, Fernando Pons bet 625,000, Ruane raised to 2,025,000 and Obst 3bet to 5,300,000.

Ruane called and bet 3,750,000 after the Ten of clubs hit the turn and Obst checked and Obst called. The river was the Ten of diamonds, pairing the board and Obst bet 4,700,000.

Ruane shoved all-in for 13,500,000 and Obst decided to fold after thinking for several minutes. The hand lasted 18 minutes and Ruane claimed to have a straight flush afterwards while Obst supposedly had 7-7 for a flopped set and rivered full house.

Ruane increased his stack to 37,940,000 with the pot (190 big blinds) while Obst fell back to 11,600,000 (58 big blinds).

Michael Ruane

Valentin Vornicu finished in 23rd place, Hakim finished in 22nd, Moss in 21st, Lau in 20th and the final two tables were set with the elimination of Miller.
