Adrian Mateos takes down €10,300 NLHE EPT Prague

The Spaniard beat Anton Yakuba heads-up for the title and €177,500.

The opening event at this year's EPT Prague generated 61 entries, who created a prize pool of €591,700. Only 27 players returned from Day 1 and they were joined by 7 new entries.

The day started excitingly, with Seth Davies and Jimmy Guerrero both busting in the first few hands. Household names with the likes of Kahle Burns, Michael Soyza or Daniel Dvoress all busted during Day 2, despite the latter holding a massive stack. He fell at Yakuba's hands in a hand, where both players made two pairs on a dry board.

The field continued to melt and with the top 8 spots paid, it was Russia's Arsenii Karmatckii, who showed a profit in the event, in the form of a €23,670 prize.

Arsenii was followed by Turkey's Orpen Kisacikoglu, who received €30,180 for finishing 7th, and Tsagunari Toma, whose 6th place worthed €37,870 this time.

After the dinner break, Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier enjoyed a couple of double-ups but he still couldn't build a healthy stack. However, he eventually busted against Derek Ip, who flopped a house against his trips. The seasoned French pro added €48,520 to his winnings with his 5th place finish.

Vladimir Troyanovski managed to hang in for a long time on a short stack, but his run eventually ended when he lost a flip with sevens against the ace-jack of his countryman, Yakuba. Vladimir left the table to pick up €62,720 at the cage.

Ip followed Troyanovski shortly when his jacks couldn't manage to hold against the ace-queen of Mateos'. The heads-up started with the young Spaniard holding a 2-1 lead over Anton. In the final hand, he made two pair against the Russian, who called him down all the way, even though he only had a king-high on the river.
